Yes you read right, “Sharmin is dead!” I have given myself as a living sacrifice unto the Lord. When I first accepted the Lord into my life I didn’t fully understand what the ministers meant by dying in the natural to live in the spiritual, until today. The only way to go out and to live for the Lord is to totally hand over your life to him. I don’t mean commit suicide but stop allowing your flesh to control your life.
There were many times when I said I was giving myself to the Lord but yet I was still holding on to it. I was not allowing the Lord to take full control of my life. I was too caught up in my flesh, pride, my wants, my issues and lost total focus of the Lord. I spent months complaining about my problems and how I was hurting. While the Lord was standing there waiting for me to just say “Help!” 1st Peter 5:6-7 states, “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” I was trying to handle my issues by myself. Therefore, Sharmin was still alive and operating while the Lord stood on the side watching. He was not able to do much because every time he tried to guide me I went my own way. When he tried to warn me, I ignore the signs. Then when I fall into a bad situation, the first thing I say, “Why the Lord let this happen to me?”
I am sharing this information with you because I want you to know that the Lord is waiting for us to humble ourselves and allow him to fully operate in our lives. We have to die daily to grow stronger in the Lord. We can’t serve two masters. We are going to have to choose if the flesh is going to rule or the Lord, not both.
I look around in the churches today and see so many Christians are caught up in the materialistic things of this earth. They cherish it more than their salvation. There are people running after husbands and wives, and will do whatever it takes – even if it means letting go of God. There are people who want a car or house or job and give up their relationship with the Lord to get these materialistic things. Why? Why are we selling out our salvation for things that profit us nothing? Mark 8:36 states, “For what shall it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and lose his own soul?”
We have to be careful in these last days. The devil is not coming at us in the ordinary way anymore but he used the things that we desire to distract us from the Lord. The devil likes to play with our mind. If he can take control of our mind, he got us. He can cause us to have spiritual illusions. We see and hear things that are not real. He can cause us to think a certain way, and have feelings that are not real. Then we get caught up in this emotional mess, which is nothing but vanity and destruction to our spiritual life.
Let us follow the Lord and allow him to direct our path. We can’t do it alone. The only way we can fully allow him to lead us, is to kill this flesh. We might not be able to stop the devil from attacking us but we can minimize the simple temptations, aggravation and issues we go through daily. A lot of the things we go through are caused by our fleshly decisions. Most of the time the devil was not involve, it was our flesh leading us. But of course we always blame the devil for everything, when most of the time it is our flesh. Our greatest enemy is our flesh.
Let us surrender our complete self to the Lord. Don’t worry about nothing else in your life; let the Lord take care of it for you. So many of us sing the song, “I surrender all to Jesus...” but have we really surrendered all to him?
He is able to do all things, we just have to trust and believe his word. There may be times when he chooses not to grant our desires in the time frame that we want, but don’t worry. He is always on time and he knows what’s best for us. If a door closes in your face, he has the power to open another one for you. Don’t limit God.

Wow, Girl,at first you scares me, when i see Sharmin is Dead, i shout it out loud and Mommy and Vincent and Melton, start running wondering what happen, but after i continue i realize what you were trying to say, so now it makes sense. However, this is a great, thought for all of us to consider, we are all caught up into things of this world and forget the words of the Lord. I too have being in this situation, and still is at the moment, and is desiring the things of the world and making it taking apart of my life, i am still fighting with the flesh and is wondering when and how will i get this problem solve all the way, even though we know the word of the Lord and is trying to do our best all the time, sometimes we get caught up to all the things this world have to offer and i pray that God will help us all.
