Don’t get too caught up with YOU!

They call me a dreamer, they call me a visionary, they call me a prophetess, they call me an angel, they call me a prayer warrior, they call me a worshipper, they call me a praiser, they call me a true friends, they call me a mentor, they call me a counselor, they call me a missionary and just about anything they can find to express their view about me.

I am not looking for fame or popularity. I could really care less. All I want to do is follow the Lord’s leading in my life. The titles that people give me or call me don’t bother me, because to me they are nothing without the Lord. I am not able to do any of those things unless the Lord is with me. All the glory goes to the Lord.

I know I have a serious calling on my life and I am trying to take a step deeper into it everyday that I wake up. There may be times when I get tired and have to take a rest to catch my breath but before long, I am on my way again. Doing the will of the Lord is not easy. It comes with a lot of complications and battles I have to fight to move on. For ever level there is a new devil. Not only are there new devils to fight but they are getting stronger at each level. That means I have to get stronger in the Lord and be able to recognize their attaching strategies. In the spiritual battle, I am not just fighting again the devil but also against myself. Yes, you heard it right myself—my flesh. My flesh sometimes can be the hardest opponent to battle.

But I am glad the Lord gives us an armor to wear and He equips us with the tools to gain victory. Sometimes winning the battle may be as simple as kneeling down and crying out to the Lord. Other times it may get harder, to the point where you have to endure a lot of pain and struggle through for months or years before you win the battle. But the important thing to remember is that we are already winners. The Bible says we are more than conquerors through Jesus. All we have to do is depend on Him and we will win. The times when we lose are when we begin to depend on our own abilities. We can’t fight this battle on our own and it makes no sense we even try because it just won’t work.

Stop trying to fight a battle you can’t win with your personal strength and start learning how to depend on God. Learn about Him in the word, develop a relationship with Him through daily prayer, and allow the Lord to purify you daily and through fasting.

This is no time for slackers but for strong and bold individuals who are not afraid to strand up for the Lord no matter what. We should make up our mind to say, ‘for God I live and for God I die!”

There are so many times we sell out our salvation for a moment of pleasure or for material things that profit us nothing. What shall it profit us to gain the whole world and lose our soul? It can profit us nothing. Nothing on this earth or even my flesh is worth me going to Hell. Period! Every time we make excuses or turn our back on the Lord, we are crucifying the Lord. We are calling Him a liar. He can not lie, His words are forever true.

Then we have the nerve to think that He has to forgive us, or He has to have mercy on us, or He has to have grace. No He doesn’t. He is not obligated to do anything for us, He does them most of the time because He loves us. But there is going to come a time when He won’t forgive anymore, His mercy and Grace is going to run out and you will be standing at in judgment to give an account for what you have done. If you reject Him on earth, He will reject you in Heaven.

The one thing that always gets me is when people say to me, I have a weakness and I just can’t get out of it. Then I will ask them if they have tried to separate themselves from the main thing that caused the weakness to trigger. Then they will answer, “Well no” or “not really, it is hard to stop going or stop doing or stop…” Man, this is crazy. Don’t get me wrong I know that not everyone can get over a weakness fast. For some it may take a while. But the fact still holds. If you are an alcoholic, don’t go to a bar or places that have alcoholic beverages—because you are going to be tempted to drink. Duh! Getting rid of something means, getting away from anything that causes it. Then you have people who struggle with lust, but yet they will continue to put themselves in positions where they are alone with a female or male for a long period of time. Come on now, don’t you think the devil will use that as an opportunity to cause you to fall into temptation, and a keep that weakness from getting heal. The best way to avoid it is to stay away from situations that cause you to fall for temptations. Set boundaries in your life. Discipline yourself to stand up for a certain life style and don’t compromise it with no one.

Let me give you a practical example. For all those who love to charge the credit card, if you don’t stop what happens? You end up in a financial debt. The best way to get out of it is to stop charging your credit card and to minimize your spending. But if you keep charging your card and keep spending your debt will only increase and you will never get out of debt. Then if you don’t seek help, you will end up filing for bankruptcy because repaying will be almost impossible. So why put yourself in that situation when you can avoid it now. Stop buying things you can’t afford or don’t really need.

The same thing goes for our spiritual life. We spent too much time involve in things we don’t need or things that are not good for us and less time with the Lord. What is the ratio for your time spent with God and everything else? I bet it is pretty low. The Lord always get the left over or the least amount. Now is that fair? No! Most of us are aware of it, but do nothing about it or say we going to change but never do. How would we feel if God gave us leftover and barely pay us attention? Thank God He is not like man!

  1. Hey Sharmin, Fresh faith truly does produce fresh fire, In Mathew and Luke chapter 4 Jesus provokes us on that thought of wht it means to truly live, by feasting on every word thta comes from the mouth of God. So you are right, we have to have that daily time with the Father in his Word and in prayer, so we can be strong enough to crucify our flesh and prove that greater is HE that is in me than he that is in the world. An excellent piece of writing- Wiseguy
