Don't make this just another "New Year"

Every New Year people make new year resolutions, whither written, spoken or within. Everyone hopes the new year brings a change or turns out better than the year before. But does it really ever happen?

For some people the years get worst and harder to go through. For others the new years bring relief and comfort. As an individual the choices and decisions you make can help to bring a good or bad outcome.

Another thing we need to realized is how bless we are in our current state. We may not have everything we desire or want but we should be very thankful for what we have and the people in our lives.

If you are a child that was raised by both parents, you should be very grateful because there are many other children out there that were raised by a single parent or other relatives. The child raised by the single parent sometimes wish that they had the opportunity to know and live with their mother and father but because of the circumstance they were not able to. Take a look at the children that are in foster care, orphanages, or on the street. You are bless!

There is no such thing as a perfect family, they all have their issues. There may be times when we have our differences in a family but we should still be grateful and appreciate the fact that we have one. Don’t ever abandon your family because they need you and you need them, whither or not you realize it.

For couples with at least a child be thankful, no matter how much trouble they give because there is another couple out there that would love to have a child and can’t. Having children is a blessing and you should be very thankful for the blessing God has given you.

The list can go on for college students, people with a job, people with a roof over their head, just to name a few. When we look at life there will always be someone that has more or has less than we do.

True happiness can’t be bought or sold but exist in our lives when we learn to appreciate it.

For this year I challenge everyone to take a look at what you have and the people in your life, and start to appreciate them. Appreciating what we have now will bring joy, comfort, patience, and relieve a lot of stress. Most of the time we get stress out because we are worried about things we don’t have. But if we should forget about the wants and focus more on the things you have it will make living a little easier.

This should be a year you spend more time with family and friends. Let them know that you love them in words and actions.

This is the year to use a little wisdom in the things you take part in. Don’t take part in the temporal satisfaction but seek things that will bring an ever lasting satisfaction.

Don’t be self-fish in the things you do, think about ours. Watch the things you say about other because someone can be saying the same thing about you. Be careful how you treat others because someone might just treat you the same way. You will reap what you sow.

Start the year off right and continue to follow the path you have start don’t stop half way.

God bless you!
