As I sat down one day and was thinking of the mercy and love the Lord has towards us. There are so many times we turned our backs on him but he never rejected us. That is amazing. There are so many people that reject the Lord every day. But why does he continue to love us and show mercy towards us? I am so glad that the Lord is not like man. The Lord love is unconditional, it doesn’t change based on what we do. No matter what we do He will still love us. There are times when we might get the Lord upset but that doesn’t mean He has removed His love towards us.
It is almost like a parent that gets upset when a child does something wrong and might punish them. But that parent still loves the child, despite what they did wrong. If humans can forgive and still love, how much more our Lord. The bible states in Hebrews 8:12, “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.”
But as I am sitting here thinking I am wondering to myself that one day the Lord’s mercy door will be shut just like the He shut the doors of Noah’s ark.
There are many people out there that think they have plenty of time to wait before they surrender their life over to the Lord. But that might not be the case. Who promised anyone that they will live to see another day or even another minute? We ought to live each day as if it the last day we have here on earth. That means if we want to make heaven our home, we have to stop running away from God and surrender now.
I have a friend that keeps telling me he will surrender his life to God some day. What if he waits too long and God’s mercy door closes before he gets that opportunity. He will be lost and his soul will spend eternity in Hell. Who wants to end up in Hell? Many of us don’t want to but if we keep disobeying the Lord and rejecting Him, that is where we will end up.
So think about it and accept the Lord into your life before it is too late.
