He might not come when you want Him to but He is always on time

Back in July 2009 I had shared a testimony on here of how the Lord answered my prayers for a family in NH that I have been praying for. This family has been through a lot and was trying to find something that can fulfill them. I told them about the Lord and encouraged them as much as I can to surrender their life to the Lord. There were many times it felt like my words were in vain because I didn’t see any results for months.

In this family there are two particular individuals that the Lord was calling. I don’t know if anyone has ever felt this inner cry for a person. But from the moment I met this family the Spirit within me started crying out for their souls. They used to go to church when they were younger. Their mom would make sure they went to church but after they became a teenager, they drifted away from the Lord. For years the devil had them bond in their sins and dragging them deeper in sin. Many people thought there was no hope for them. There were times when I told others that I was trying to minister to this family and they would tell me I was wasting my time because that family will never get better. Some even went as far as to say that they are almost like the devil himself. I do remember the time when I first met them and they were pretty far in sin and it did seem like the devil was controlling their lives.

But despite of who they were back in February 2009 when I met them, today I stand as a living witness to say that the Lord has changed them completely. The young lady gave her heart over to the Lord about two months ago. From the night she surrendered her life over to the Lord she has not turn back. The Lord has provided a Pentecostal church in the area that they can attend. I remember the day when I was sharing with the young lady my testimony of how the Lord delivered me out of so many things and the love the Lord has for me. She became emotional at the moment and I knew at that point that the Lord was speaking to her heart. Few days later she called me with full excitement telling me that she couldn’t run from the Lord anymore and surrendered her life to Him. My heart rejoiced to hear the news. Hallelujah! One soul has given her life back over to the Lord. That was a blessing!

Then two weeks ago the Lord allowed her brother to listen to a CD that was preaching about going to Hell and who will end up there if they don’t give their life to the Lord. The Lord spoke to his heart that night and he finally surrendered to the ‘knocking on his heart door.’ He was an alcoholic that became very ill whenever he tried not to drink for few hours. But after he surrendered his life to the Lord two weeks ago he has not put any alcoholic beverage to his mouth and has not been sick either. The Lord knew he had an addiction and completely took it away after he surrender to the Lord. I pray that he stays steadfast in the Lord and continue to grow stronger in Him.

If you want to know a little bit of their story before the change you can read the blog entry that I wrote in June, “Be Careful what you pray for…it might just come to pass.” When I wrote that entry the young man haven’t given his life over to the Lord. There were even moments when it seemed like he was getting back into the mess the Lord took him out of. But I would continue to ask the church to pray for the family and I mention his name to the Lord every night before I went to bed. In my mind I wanted the Lord to save him right away. But the Lord had His own timing. He slowly worked on his heart and took things away from him that was a hindrance. He gave him a wake up call when his cousin passed away in August. Of course whenever the Lord is working the devil always try to put his head in the situation. The enemy would confused his mind and cause him to go after things that were evil. At one point his heart was waxed cold. He would hurt a person emotionally and laugh about it because it didn’t have an affect on him at all. But thank God for change. There is no one in this world that is too deep in sin that God can’t reach down and save. There is no addiction too great that the Lord can not remove. Thank you Jesus! Hallelujah! I am so glad that I serve an almighty God.

This was an amazing experience. There were nights when I had to cry. There were nights when I felt like my efforts where in vain. This taught me a great lesson that I should not be afraid to get out of my comfort zone to spread the gospel. Even when it seems like it fell on deaf ears, the Lord will make sure that His words accomplish what He sent them to accomplish. I take no glory because it all belongs to the Lord. The Lord did everything. I was just a willing vessel that the Lord used to plant the seed. The Lord did everything else.

I am so glad I didn’t listen to the ones that were telling me to stay away and to give up on this family. But thank God for believing deep in my heart that it was the Lord in control. I know that they are still babies in the gospel and have a long way to go. But at least they have taken the first step. The harvest is plenty it is just for us to go out there and draw others in. They may not end up at the same church you attend but the Lord will provide for them a place of worship. This family doesn’t attend my church because of distance and transportation, but the Lord provided them with a Pentecostal church that is in their area that they can attend regularly.

I hope that this entry has encouraged you to take risks and not to be afraid to go where the Lord sends you. The Lord sent me almost one hour away to minister to this family and I did it each time. It didn’t matter if I drove all the way over there to spend couple hours with them or to pick them up for service. I had a willing heart to perform the task. It was challenging at times but the Lord worked everything out.

Think about it and don’t be afraid to step out on faith.
