Where is the Love?

It seems like every year people stray further away from true love. When I was younger there were so many loving people around that really cared about others. But today there are so many people who don’t care anymore or their heart is waxed cold.

One day this week I sat down to have lunch with few young people, from their reaction to things and the way they spoke about certain topics scared me. It is almost like they don’t have a heart and their conscience is dead. When they discuss things they do behind their partners back and have no regret for it, blew me away. I sat there in complete shock to know that people can come to your face tell you how much they love you and don’t mean a drop of it. They might even try to go through the formality of showing love but underneath there is nothing. The world is truly coming to an end.

Even look at the suicide bombers who can kill others and think there is nothing wrong with it. Come on, where is the love? Where is the heart of compassion? What happened to loving your neighbor as yourself? It seems like most of that went through the door. There are few people I see hanging on to true love but the majority have strayed away tremendously.

The book of Matthew in chapter 24 speaks about the words Jesus spoke to his disciplines concerning the end times. Everything that is mentioned of the end must come to past. The Lord does not lie and can not lie. If he speaks it we have to take heed and believe that it will come to past.

“For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ and shall deceive many. And he shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nations shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrow. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. (Matthew 24: 5 – 14, KJV)”

Wow! That is amazing. Half of what I am seeing is not even the end but the beginning of sorrow. Just imagine what it will be like as it gets closer to the end. Lord, help us to stay strong and endure to the end.

As my previous blog entry, Keep yourselves from idol, mentioned that many of us are getting side tracked by the material things of this world but we ought to focus on the Lord in this time more than ever. This is the time for all of us to draw closer to the Lord and make sure our ‘lamps’ are filled with oil. We don’t want to be like the five foolish virgins that didn’t have enough oil to last them until the bride groom’s arrival. We should be filled continually so that we never run out.

It doesn’t matter how many times we heard it preached or sung, the Lord is sending his people a warning and we must take heed. Awake from your spiritual slumber and be alert. This is no time to be complacent in the things pertaining to the Lord. We complain about not seeing the power of God move in our lives or in our churches like in the days of old. But how can He move when we are asleep. AWAKE!

No one should be comfortable or content with the level they are at in Christ, we can always go higher. We should never think we have done enough, because there is still more to be done. We need to let go of our man made rules that are holding back the power of God to move in our lives and churches. Don’t let no one stop you because of your age or gender, if God has charged you to do something --- DO IT. We ought to follow God and not men. We ought to listen to God’s report and not men’s. In the end the only thing that will matter is what God thinks about you and how well He thought you did.

I hope that this entry was a blessing to you and that you will continue to grow strong in the Lord. The end of this world is coming but the beginning of our FREEDOM is also coming. We will be free from pain, heartaches, and sickness. “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes: there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying , and there shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. (Revelations 21:4, KJV)” What a glorious day that will be, I am looking forward for that day.
