This is to tell us that even when everyone around us are doing evil we as Christians should always strive to follow the Lord Commandments and strife for holiness before the Lord. Noah could have allowed himself to be caught up with the things the other people where doing but he didn’t he stayed focus on the Lord. The Bible said, “Noah was a just man and perfect in his generation and Noah walked with God (Genesis 6:9).” How many of us can God say that about? When God looked down on the earth is He ashamed of us or pleased with us?
There are so many people trying to fit into society and trying to do what everyone else is doing but is that what God wants from us? Just because everyone else around us is doing it doesn’t mean it has to be right. This is something we have to pay close attention to as Christians. The devil is trying all he can to deceive the people of God. Don’t ever think you are too spiritually strong to be deceived. Anyone of us can be deceived if we don’t pay close attention and consult God about everything that we allow ourselves to take part in.
Today the world is almost as wicked as it was in the days of Noah. “The earth also was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, the end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth (Genesis 6: 11- 13).” There is going to come a point where God is going to get sick of the wickedness on the face of the earth and destroy it. It says in Luke Chapter 17: 26, “And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.”
{17:27} They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
{17:28} Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
{17:29} But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed [them] all.
The Lord has given us plenty of warnings and signs for us to obey. It won’t be His fault if we disobey and perish. This earth will be destroyed not with water but with fire next time. This earth will be completely consumed. The question is are you ready for His return? Look around us the signs of the end time is being fulfilled. It is not a joke or an old saying but God is coming back soon and we need to be ready when he returns. Has it said in Luke 17: 34 – 36, “I tell you, in that night there shall be two in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken and the other left.” Will you be the one taken or the one left behind?
My encouragement today is to follow the Lord no matter what is going on around you. Even if you are the only one living for the Lord – continue to do so. Don’t let anyone turn you away from the Lord. Be the Noah in your community today. Be the one that God is pleased with when he looks down on the earth.
