It is Thursday. I am glad because it will be the weekend in couple days. I am at work and giving God thanks for all that he has done for me. I am thankful for his mercies and love towards me. As I sit and reflect on my life and the things that the Lord has brought me through and I just have to raise my hand and I say “Thank you Jesus!” There are so many young people my age that are on drugs, single mothers, in jail, confuse, lost and searching for love and can’t find it. But today I am thankful that the Lord didn’t allow me to be in those situations and have opened my eyes to the truth.
I am a proud apostolic believer of the oneness of Jesus Christ. I try my best to spread the gospel in everything I do and everywhere I go. My desire is to follow the Lord’s commandment and do His will. It is not easy to be a Christian because I have to fight daily in the spiritual and natural. The enemy (flesh and the devil) tries to go against the will of God all the time and I have to discipline myself to stay in line with God’s will. I might have to say no to things that others are doing or going to certain places.
Someone came to me this week and shared his view about me when I come to work. He mentioned that I would come to work humming a song, polite, had a positive attitude to all things even in things that don’t look possible, was willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, barely boast about my accomplishments, and always had a smile on my face. According to him these things help him to go through the day. If he came to work a little down and saw my smile it would cheer him up. He always wondered what caused me to be so joyful and if I had a perfect life. This was a great time to share the gospel with him because it was God that gave me such joy and peace within. My life is not perfect and will never be on this side of life but God told me to cast all my cares upon him – and that is what I try to do.
It is amazing how the simple things we do in life can have a great impact on someone else. Who knew that going to work with a positive attitude can affect someone else’s day. But I am thankful that He has allowed my life to be a blessing to someone.
I normally start my day off with music. I am a music freak, I love listening to music all day long. I would play a praise or worship song and praise the Lord while I get ready and drive to work. I walk into the building with a song on my heart and maybe humming the tune. I greet the ones I see with a warm smile and “Good morning!” I go to my desk and login to outlook to begin my day of work. My days at work are not always the greatest. There are times when I am in a complex project and there are a lot of pressures in getting it done on time and with minimum to no errors. But I thank God for giving me peace, confidence and the knowledge I need to complete the task.
Being an engineer is a big task because many people believe that we should know all the answers to their questions, when that is not always the case. I might have a certain level of knowledge but that doesn’t mean I know everything, especially new things that come up. But with the help of God I am able to go through each task with confidence knowing that God being omniscient (all knowing) is well able to supply me with the level of knowledge I need to complete the task.
God looks out for us in all areas of our life; we should never put a limit on God and what he is able to do. He has done it for me many times and I am sure he will do it for you.
This week try trusting God and putting it all into his hands and you will see the difference it makes in your life. Think about it!
This is something that I was speaking to my friend about the other day. Allowing God to shine through us in our life. Being a christian is more than just going to church but allowing God to live inside of us and shining through everywhere we go. Our life style is the biggest testimony of Jesus Christ.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this I really enjoyed it.
